The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council of Swindon, UK, and Philips Research of Best, the Netherlands, have formed an alliance to fund research and training in biomedical diagnostic technologies. The four-year joint research framework includes plans to develop battery-powered, portable biosensors that can transmit and receive data wirelessly for use in health, diagnostics and personal fitness monitoring.
