Dirk Berndt was appointed deputy director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Factory Operation and Automation (IFF), effective Jan. 1. Berndt, also head of the measurement and testing technology business unit at Fraunhofer IFF, has served as a member of the European Machine Vision Association (EMVA) board of directors.
