Basler and Amazon Web Services Expand Strategic Cooperation

AHRENSBURG, Germany, April 19, 2021 — In collaboration with Amazon, Basler has developed an AI machine vision platform for industrial applications based on Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) AI and machine learning services. The platform allows deployment of AI-based applications at the edge for quality inspection, site safety, and supply chain efficiency.

The platform contains a 5-MP Basler camera and an NVIDIA Jetson TX2NX edge processing unit, all necessary accessories, and Basler’s pylon Camera Software Suite that is integrated with AWS Panorama, which uses a common architecture to address multiple use cases to accommodate a wide range of requirements and applications. Amazon Lookout for Vision, for example, can be used to build machine learning models to spot anomalies in visual representation and automate quality inspection.
