AlixLabs Appoints Arthur van der Poel to its Advisory Board: People in the News: 12/24/25

JENA, Germany, Dec. 24, 2025 — JENOPTIK appointed Daniela Mattheus chairwoman. Mattheus was elected for the remainder of the term of office of the outgoing chair, Matthias Wierlacher. Mattheus is a professional supervisory board member and has served on Jenoptik's supervisory board since 2023. As a lawyer and management consultant, she has experience in corporate governance and transformation, sustainability, accounting, and auditing.  

JENA, Germany — The supervisory boards of Carl Zeiss AG and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG have reached a mutual agreement with to end their collaboration with Maximilian Foerst, member of the executive board of Carl Zeiss AG responsible for the Medical Technology segment and CEO of Carl Zeiss Meditec AG. Foerst leaves the role following the conclusion of the company's investigation into a violation of the company's code of conduct. Andreas Pecher, currently president and CEO of Carl Zeiss AG, will temporarily also be CEO of Carl Zeiss Meditec AG starting Jan. 1, 2026. The company is currently searching for Foerest’s successor.

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Teledyne Technologies Inc. promoted JihFen Lei to senior vice president of Teledyne Technologies. Lei will continue to lead Teledyne FLIR Defense and will assume responsibility for Teledyne's Aerospace and Defense Electronics Segment. Lei previously performed the duties of the Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering at the Pentagon and served as the Principal Deputy Director of Defense Research and Engineering for Research and Technology. In these roles, Lei led the U.S. Department of Defense Science and Technology Enterprise and oversaw the Science and Technology investment programs, workforce, and laboratory infrastructure policy collaborating with international allies.

LUND, Sweden — AlixLabs appointed Arthur van der Poel to its advisory board. van der Poel has decades of senior leadership experience across the global semiconductor and microelectronics industries. Previously, he served as CEO of Philips Semiconductors and has held prominent board and governance roles at several technology leaders, including ASML. He joins the advisory board as Jacques Kools, who began his career at Philips Research Laboratories in Eindhoven, Netherlands, steps down from his role.

KANE COUNTY, Ill. — Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory appointed Norbert Holtkamp director. Holtkamp is the former deputy director of SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory at Stanford University and currently serves as a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution. He is also a professor of particle and astrophysics, and of photon science, at SLAC and Stanford. In his role as director, Holtkamp will continue Fermilab’s work to modernize its operations and infrastructure to leverage the capabilities of the Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment and other major projects.

TUCSON, Ariz. — Brian Anderson has been appointed dean of the Wyant College of Optical Science at the University of Arizona, effective Jan. 5, 2026. Anderson has served as interim dean since July 1 and has been a member of the optical sciences faculty since 2001. Since 2019, he has served as associate dean for graduate academic affairs. Anderson's research centers on the physics of Bose-Einstein condensates and has appeared in journals including Science, Nature, and Physical Review Letters.

PARIS — Prophesee, an event-based vision technology company, appointed Jean Ferré CEO. Ferré has been designated by the board to succeed Luca Verre, Prophesee’s co-founder and former CEO, who is leaving the company. Ferré has 30 years of international experience in product marketing, business strategy, and data-driven growth across cloud, data, electronics, and enterprise software. He has held leadership and profit and loss roles at major companies, including Microsoft and Thales, and co-founded and was CEO of Sinequa, a generative AI company.
