ASML Takes Stake in, Partners with Mistral AI
VELDHOVEN, Netherlands, Sept. 12, 2025 — ASML and France-based AI company Mistral AI have established a strategic partnership to explore the use of AI models across ASML’s product portfolio. The partnership is based on a long-term collaboration agreement and also covers research, development, and operations. From the partnership, ASML is aiming to gain faster time to market and higher performance holistic lithography systems.
ASML is also investing €1.3 billion ($1.5 billion) into Mistral AI’s series C funding round as lead investor, in order to support its development and reinforce the long-term partnership benefits. ASML will hold an approximately 11% stake on a fully diluted basis in Mistral AI.
Mistral AI is a developer of generative AI. The company provides high-performance, optimized, open-source models, products, and solutions, as well as end-to-end infrastructure with Mistral Compute. The company supports a decentralized and transparent approach to technology, and has a global presence in the U.S., U.K., and Singapore, in addition to its French headquarters.
