APOMA Names First Honorary Member: People In the News: 8/27/25
The American Precision Optics Manufacturers Association (APOMA) named U.S. Rep. Joseph Morelle, a member of the Congressional Optics and Photonics Caucus, as its first honorary member due to his contributions to the optics manufacturing industry. The designation, authorized under APOMA’s bylaws but never awarded in the association’s nearly 40-year history, was presented to Congressman Morelle during a special ceremony in Rochester, N.Y. Morelle's contributions include investment in Monroe Community College’s remote learning optics training and advocating at the federal level on behalf of the U.S. optics industry.
