HyperSpectral, an AI-powered spectral intelligence company, has closed a $7 million funding round. The company said it plans to use the funding to expand partnerships, fuel accelerated development, and prepare for a 2026 Series B round.

The company emerged from stealth last year and is developing its SpecAI platform. The technology combines spectroscopy with advanced AI, integrating datasets and working across a wide range of devices. The company describes its solution as universal and noninvasive, with application across healthcare and health monitoring, contaminant detection, and food safety.

In addition to the financing, the company added Vincent "Chuck" Mattera, former CEO of Coherent Corp. (formerly II-VI) to its board. Mattera, current CEO and board chairman of Avalanche Thinking, will serve as HyperSpectral's board chairman. Avalanche Thinking is an advisory and investment platform. It participated in the funding, which was co-led by RRE Ventures and Kibo Ventures.

The $7 million raise will provide resources to develop HyperSpectral’s technology platform further ahead of commercial scaling and solidify its leadership position with key customers and partners.

HyperSpectral earned a 2025 Prism Award for its software solution.
