A3’s Plugfest Validates Interoperability for GigE Vision and Camera Link HS

The Association for Advancing Automation (A3) released the results of its Fall 2023 PlugFest, designed to validate the interoperability of products against the requirements of standards including Camera Link HS (CLHS), GigE Vision, and USB3 Vision standards. The event certified six products as being compliant with their corresponding standards.

Five products belonging to the GigE Vision standard were certified: the Atlas10 10GigE and Atlas 5GigE cameras from LUCID Vision Labs; the AltiZ 3D Profile Sensor from Zebra Technologies; the LX Series with 10G from Baumer; and the Genie Nano-10GigE from Teledyne DALSA. Teledyne DALSA’s Falcon4-CLHS 11M was certified as being compliant with CLHS standards.

The event was held at the International Vision Standards Meeting (IVSM) hosted by Teledyne DALSA and A3. The next PlugFest will be held at the Spring IVSM meeting in Tokyo, Japan, which will be hosted by the Japan Industrial Imaging Association (JIIA) on April 16. The upcoming meeting will cover GigE Vision, USB3 Vision, and CoaXPress.

IVSM meetings are supported by the global G3 group, which comprises A3, JIIA, the European Machine Vision Association (EMVA), the Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA), and the China Machine Vision Union (CMVU).

Glossary
machine vision
Machine vision, also known as computer vision or computer sight, refers to the technology that enables machines, typically computers, to interpret and understand visual information from the world, much like the human visual system. It involves the development and application of algorithms and systems that allow machines to acquire, process, analyze, and make decisions based on visual data. Key aspects of machine vision include: Image acquisition: Machine vision systems use various...
camera link hs
Camera Link HS (high speed) is a standard developed for high-speed digital data transmission in machine vision and industrial imaging applications. It is an evolution of the original Camera Link standard, aiming to provide higher bandwidth and faster data transfer rates. Camera Link HS utilizes high-speed serial communication to transmit image data, control signals, and metadata between cameras and frame grabbers or other image processing devices. Key features of Camera Link HS include: ...
