Tellabs, Chinese Equipment Firm form Alliance

LISLE, Ill., July 16 -- Tellabs Inc. has formed an alliance with a Chinese telecommunications equipment maker to distribute Tellabs' optical networking products in the fast-growing Chinese market. Financial terms of the deal with Nanjing Postel Telecommunications were not disclosed.
"Tellabs develops strategic alliances with major telecom companies to help us reach new customers in fast-growing markets," said John Cole, vice president and general manager for Tellabs' Asia Pacific region. "Our strategic alliance with Nanjing Postel expands Tellabs' presence into the vigorous Chinese market."
