K2 Optronics, Flextronics Photonics Ink Manufacturing Pact

SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 12 -- K2 Optronics Inc. and Flextronics Photonics, a business unit of Flextronics, have signed a strategic agreement to manufacture metro DWDM laser diode modules based on an external cavity configuration.
"Flextronics Photonics has established itself as the leading component contract manufacturer and is committed to providing the manufacturing automation processes that the metro optical networking industry needs to succeed," said Bill Daniher, vice president of operations for K2 Optronics. "Flextronics also provides several of the critical packaging design elements saving K2 Optronics time-to-market and offering a value added manufacturing partnership."
