Hologram on Display in Texas
The first of three sections of a "Texas-size" hologram has been installed over the baggage claim area of Barbara Jordan Terminal at
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Austin, Texas. Donated by
Samsung Austin Semiconductor,
Zebra Imaging Inc. and
frog design's
frogTX office, all in Austin, the hologram commemorates the airport's second anniversary. When completed, it will be the largest public three-dimensional image in the world, at 30 x 4 feet.
The first 10 x 4-foot panel, titled
Music, displays a guitar and the sheet music and lyrics to "London Homesick Blues" by Gary P. Nunn, Texas' official ambassador to the world and writer of its state song, "What I Like About Texas." The other panels,
Nature and
Technology, are scheduled for installation this year.
