Two More Companies Added to the Digital Greenhouse Member Roster
PITTSBURGH, May 18 -- The Pittsburgh Digital Greenhouse, an economic development initiative sponsored by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, announced the addition of two new companies to their industry member roster. The companies, Marconi and Benchmark Photonics, bring the total number of companies in the Greenhouse to 23.
"As we consider potential additions to our membership roster, we are constantly looking to make the greenhouse network more valuable to our members," said Dennis Yablonsky, president and CEO of the Digital Greenhouse. "Marconi provides a comprehensive expertise in broadband networking and information technology, and Benchmark Photonics brings innovation in the exciting field of fiber optic communication networks and we are proud to have them as members."
Marconi, with its largest US facility located in Pittsburgh's Marshall Township, is a global provider of broadband solutions that help companies and service providers plan, build and operate voice, video and data networks. Marconi has customers throughout the world, using Marconi's optical, switching and access solutions, including telecommunications carriers, internet service providers, large enterprise businesses, government agencies and universities.
Located in Wexford, Pa., Benchmark Photonics is developing the next generation of high-performance components for fiber optic communication networks using a combination of System-on-Chip and MEMS technologies.
