Optical Research Associates announced that they have extended the modeling and analysis capabilities of their illumination design and analysis software package. The LightTools Version 3.1 demonstrates improved simulation of back-lit displays and illuminated instrument panels with the added capability to model a wide variety of textured surfaces, such as paint dots, masks, appliques and arrays of thin lenses. Analytical Spectral Devices Inc. (ASD) introduced new sampling accessories for its LabSpec Pro near-IR analyzer. The new accessories include a high intensity source probe, a high intensity contact probe and a multipurpose fiber optic fixture. The LabSpec Pro is primarily used in the chemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical and food industries.
