MetroPhotonics Inc., an emerging player in the high-capacity optical component market for metropolitan networks, announced the additions of
John Wade and
Jean-Paul Noel to its executive team. Noel, who was previously an engineering manager at JDS Uniphase, joins the company as vice president of Photonic Integrated Circuit Development. Wade, a former senior scientist with EG&G Optoelectronics Canada, assumes the position of principal technology officer of the company's Assembly and Test division.
Patricia Stubban has joined
Melles Griot, as general manager for the Photonics Components division in Irvine, California. Stubban brings with her 19 years of experience in operations and general management with an emphasis in production and material control.
360networks announced that it has completed and lit a key segment of its undersea network in Latin America between Fortaleza and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Completed on time and on budget, the 2000-mile segment is scheduled to enter commercial service in early May. 360americas now connects the US, Brazil, Venezuela and Bermuda, and will reach Sao Paulo this quarter and Buenos Aires in the fourth quarter of this year, the company said.
