OFC Attendance Hits 38,000

ANAHEIM, Calif., March 21 – Attendance at OFC 2001 hit the 38,000 mark – more than doubling that at last year's show. According to show organizers, growth in all areas followed suit. Technical papers were up by 50 percent as were exhibits.
So great was the surge of attendees trying to register Monday that the registration halls were packed from wall to wall all day. Waits of up to two or more hours were common. Despite that, all finally made it through and to the floor.
OFC 2002 is scheduled to return to Anaheim at the same place and time next year. The question all ask is: How much bigger can it get? We'll see next year.
