Advanced Photonix Wins New Detector Orders

CAMARILLO, Calif., Feb. 9 -- Advanced Photonix Inc. has booked another follow-on order to provide LED/detector modules to bioMerieux Inc. for use in its Vitek 2 microbiology testing system. The order brings the total from bioMerieux during the past 12 months to $1 million.
Vitek 2 allows integration of sample preparation, incubation and optical measurement systems for use in the identification and susceptibility testing of microorganisms into a single instrument. The LED/detector assembly provided by Advanced Photonix provides both the circuit and optical integration requirements of emitter and detector.
Advanced Photonix develops and manufactures large area avalanche photodiodes. bioMerieux specializes in infectious disease diagnostics and industrial microbiological controls.
