360Networks Names New Chief Operating Officer

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Canada, Dec. 18 -- 360networks, provider of broadband network and colocation services to telecommunications and data-centric organizations, has named Jimmy Byrd as its chief operating officer. Byrd will be responsible for network operations, interconnection, provisioning, colocation and information systems.
Jimmy brings to 360networks an outstanding background in telecommunications and information technology, a strong reputation as a builder of businesses, and a clear vision of what network service providers will be in the future, said Greg Maffei, president and CEO of 360networks. Jimmy is an exceptional leader who will bring additional operating strength to a strong management and technical team.
Byrd was most recently president of North American operations at Level 3 Communications where he oversaw all commercial operations and managed about 2400 people. Previously, Byrd was president and CEO of a Level 3 subsidiary that provides computer outsourcing, systems integration and Web-enabling services.
