APA Wins Alcatel Order for DWDM Components

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 24 -- APA Optics Inc. reported that a unit of France's Alcatel has ordered 25 dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) components. The order included both 8- and 16-channel units, said APA Optics. The orders will ship over the next two months, said APA. Alcatel had purchased an earlier version, but placed this order after examining and testing APA's current DWDMs. The value of the order was not disclosed. APA Optics designs, develops and manufactures products for the fiber optic communications, optoelectronics and laser industries.
