Flextronics International Sets Up Photonics Unit

SINGAPORE, Oct. 23 -- In a move to provide more services for the optical component and optical networking industries, Flextronics International Ltd. will form an additional business unit called Flextronics Photonics. The new business unit will provide design, industrialization, supply chain management and manufacturing services. : The new unit will integrate existing personnel and optical capabilities with the recently acquired Photonic Packaging Technologies Inc., in Beaverton, Ore., a provider of manufacturing services for the telecommunications, test and measurement and defense industries.
