PerkinElmer Boosts Investment in Bragg Photonics

BOSTON, Oct. 13 -- PerkinElmer Inc. has expanded its equity stake in Montreal-based Bragg Photonics Inc. to 26 percent.
The increase in our equity stake strengthens our position as a leading independent supplier of high-speed optical receivers, said Gregory L. Summe, chairman and CEO of PerkinElmer.
We are very pleased with the Bragg relationship and the joint development activities we are working on in the receiver and pump laser areas, said Peter Kung, president and CEO of Bragg Photonics.
PerkinElmer is a manufacturer of high-speed optical components for telecommunications and optical networking equipment companies worldwide. Bragg Photonics is a producer of fiber optic components using fiber-grating technology.
