GSI Lumonics Finalizes Sale of Life Sciences Unit

KANATA, Ontario, Oct. 4 -- Packard BioScience Co. has completed the previously announced acquisition of GSI Lumonics Inc.'s Life Sciences business. Packard paid $40 million in cash in addition to 4.6 million shares of its common stock (with an adjustment to be based on net assets acquired). Packard BioScience is located in Meriden, Conn.
