EXFO Provides Fiber Test Installation for Bestel

QUEBEC CITY, Quebec, Canada, Sept. 14 -- EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. has installed a remote fiber test system (RFTS) for Bestel S.A. de C.V., a Mexican telecommunications service provider.BR>EXFO has provided Bestel with 18 RTUs that include more than 4000 km of cable for its high-capacity voice and data network. Monitoring reaches from Laredo, Texas to the Mexican cities of Puebla, which is south of Mexico City, to Mazatlan in the west and San Luis in the east.
When we completed and then handed off this phase of the project to Bestel, we knew we were passing along network quality, service, and reliability, said Germain Lamonde, chairman, CEO and president of EXFO. Our RFTS, better known as FiberVisor, is designed to foster preventive maintenance. It is all about keeping service high and downtime low.
