LaserSight Gets FDA OK to Advance LaserScan LSX

WINTER PARK, Fla., Sept. 5 -- LaserSight Inc., a supplier of technology solutions for laser vision correction, has received the US Food and Drug Administration's permission to increase the laser pulse repetition rate of the LaserScan LSX excimer laser to 200 Hz. The increase gives the laser vision correction system the fastest repetition rate available on the US market.
LaserSight will begin upgrading its US-installed base of lasers within the next 30 days. The company has been delivering laser systems that perform at the 200 Hz repetition rate to the international market for the past year. LaserSight has more than 130 existing systems that operate at the higher frequency.
