ESPROS Transitions CEO: People in the News: 7/17/24

ESPROS Photonics, a manufacturer of sensor and camera chips for time-of-flight sensing technology, has appointed Achim Ott as CEO, effective Aug. 1. Ott will succeed company founder Beat De Coi, who has held the role for 19 years. Ott most recently served as vice president of robotics for Hamilton Bonaduz AG, having previously held senior leadership roles at Trumpf, including as CEO of Trumpf Grüsch AG. De Coi will continue as chairman of the company’s board and will work part-time in North America on market development and technical support.

CAMBRIDGE, England — Developer of software and AI solutions for drug discovery and molecular design Optibrium has added James Halle as chief commercial officer. He will manage Optibrium’s commercial team while working with senior leadership to develop and deliver the company’s product commercialization strategy. Halle joins Optibrium from Cytel, a clinical trials services and software business, where he was global head of product growth. He has also held a range of leadership positions at IQVIA.

LACHEN, Switzerland — Photonfocus AG, a CMOS chip designer, has appointed Martin Döllinger as its head of sales. Döllinger brings over 10 years of experience in the machine vision industry. Most recently, Döllinger served as a group sales leader for Basler AG, having previously held various sales leadership roles of increasing responsibility within the company.

TEL AVIV, Israel — Laser-based computing company LightSolver has added Amir Oz as COO and Miki Sapir as vice president of product management. Oz brings over two decades of multi-disciplinary experience leading complex technology and product operations at companies including GE Health, SanDisk, and Infinidat. Sapir previously held several leadership roles in R&D and product management at SanDisk, Western Digital, Infinidat, and Align Technologies, among others.
