Siemens Acquires Inspekto

Siemens AG has acquired visual inspection startup Inspekto GmbH. Previously a portfolio company of D11Z. Ventures, Inspekto is a developer of AI-controlled inspections solutions for industrial processes. Its technology mimics cognitive human vision for quality control in a range of industries including mechanical engineering, the automotive sector, electronics, and consumer goods. The acquisition paves the way for global expansion of Inspekto's technology.

Originally a client of Inspekto, Siemens will bring the company into its Factory Automation business, headquartered in Nuremberg, Germany. Inspekto will continue in its current business dealings under the same moniker and retains its previous address.
