Prisma Photonics Secures $20M in Funding
AI-driven infrastructure monitoring startup Prisma Photonics has raised approximately $20 million in a series C round. The investment will accelerate the company’s entrance into the global power and renewable energy market while supporting continued growth. The round brings the firm’s total funds raised to more than $50 million, after Prisma raised the same amount in its 2022 series B round.
Prisma Photonics uses optical fiber sensing technology to detect and provide alerts on events such as electrical faults and extreme weather conditions such as wildfires and icing. The company’s solutions monitor infrastructure using existing optical fibers covering great distances, up to thousands of kilometers, without the need to install sensors on the infrastructure itself. Events and alerts are reported in real time and within meters of accuracy. The company collaborates with
Israel National Gas Lines to implement its PrismaFlow system for continuous monitoring of gas pipeline segments in the country.
The funding round involved Insight Partners, with participation from Elements, a Climatech fund, Schneider Electric’s venture capital arm SE Ventures, Future Energy Ventures, Chione Switzerland, and INcapital. Also this month, Prisma expanded its U.S. presence by appointing a U.S. sales leader.
