Marantz Electronics Adds to Leadership Team: People in the News: 06/07/2023

Mek (Marantz Electronics), a provider of automatic optical inspection solutions, appointed Maria Dzionk operations manager. Most recently, Dzionk served as returns coordinator at GXO Logistics where she was responsible for maintaining company processing standards across numerous product lines. Dzionk will be responsible for overseeing Mek’s operations including order administration processes, supply chain management, and logistics.

HAYWARD, Calif. — Biotechnology company Eikon Therapeutics formed a clinical development organization to guide the company’s medicine candidates into and through trials and regulatory review. Led by chief medical officer Roy Baynes, the team includes Mei Ling Chang-Lok, Suba Krishnan, Kevin O’Brien, Harry Raftopoulos, and Sam Rebello.

BOSTON — Photonic computing company Lightelligence appointed Ben Chen to the newly created position of vice president of integration. Chen’s previous experience includes technical and marketing leadership roles at Lucent Technologies/Bell Labs, Optium (Finisar), OCP (Oplink/Molex), Hoya Xponent, Accelink, and Hengtong Rockley.

OXFORD, England — Fusion energy technology company First Light Fusion has appointed Rick Spielman to its scientific advisory board. Spielman has held a number of leadership positions including chief scientist, project manager, and manager at Sandia National Laboratories. He was awarded the 2023 Erwin Marx award for contributions to pulsed-power technology. He has also held senior academic positions at Idaho State University and is a professor of physics at the University of Rochester.

GRAZ, Austria — Production metrology company Bruker Alicona appointed Urban Muraus general manager. Muraus has spent 10 years with Bruker Alicona and previously served as head of the company’s global sales team.

BOLLÈNE, France — Egide Group chairman and group CEO Jim Collins resigned. Collins remains a group employee, as director of the U.S. entities to be sold, as well as a member of the board of directors. The position of chairman was delegated to board member Michel Faure. The group’s CEO position was delegated to Philippe Bringuier, which he will combine with his position as CFO. David Hien, general manager of the Bollène facility, was appointed deputy CEO of Egide SA.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — John Moran joined Quanergy Solutions as vice president of operations. Moran held multiple executive leadership positions at Cisco, leading engineering operations, program management, quality, escalations, customer satisfaction, supply continuity, value engineering, and product realization.

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — Optical technology company Kopin Corp. elected James Brewington chairman. John C.C. Fan, who previously served as chairman of the board, will remain on the board of directors. Fan retired as Kopin’s president and CEO in 2022.
