ADVA Details CEO Change; VELO3D Names CTO: People in the News: 05/31/23

CEO of optical networking company ADVA, will step down and transition to his previous role as CTO for ADVA, effective June 30, and will continue as CTO for Adtran.
Tom Stanton will be appointed as ADVA’s CEO, effective July 1, and will continue in his role as CEO of Adtran. ADVA and Adtran finalized a business combination last year.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rivada Networks, a provider of satellite-based optical networking, added former U.S. Secretary of State
Michael Pompeo to its board of directors. Pompeo served as the 70th U.S. secretary of state from 2018-2021. Prior to his role as secretary of state, Pompeo served as director of the Central Intelligence Agency and represented Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

CAMPBELL, Calif. — Additive manufacturing technology company Velo3D promoted
Alexander Varlahanov to CTO. Varlahanov most recently served as vice president of engineering, where he oversaw the company’s hardware and software products. Before joining Velo3D, Varlahanov spent more than 17 years at GUZIK Technical Enterprises. He holds four patents, including two that he obtained during his time at Velo3D.

Andrew Repton vice president of integrated circuit design. Repton previously served as vice president of ASIC engineering at Morse Micro. He spent nearly 28 years at Dialog Semiconductor.
