AEye Names Conor Tierney CFO: People in the News: 05/10/23

Lidar company AEye named Conor Tierney CFO and treasurer. Tierney joined AEye as chief accounting officer in 2022 and most recently served as interim CFO. Prior to joining AEye, Tierney was head of finance and corporate controller at Alphabet’s Wing Aviation division. He also served as corporate controller at Glu Mobile. Before that, Tierney worked in public accounting at firms including Deloitte and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

HANOVER, Germany — Laser Zentrum Hannover (LZH) has made changes to its board of directors. Lena Bennefeld has succeeded Klaus Ulbrich on the executive board, and Uwe Morgner takes over from Ludger Overmeyer.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — OneLight Sensing appointed Christian Becker president. Becker completed a more than 30-year career in the U.S. Navy as senior space acquisition officer and as the commander of the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command.

TUCSON, Ariz. — Directed energy and laser technology company Applied Energetics named Stephen McCahon chief science officer. McCahon co-founded Applied Energetics and rejoined the company in May 2019 as its chief scientist in a consulting role.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Lidar technology company Cepton appointed Luis Gonçalves to its Detroit-based team as director of customer programs. Gonçalves spent nine years at General Motors (GM) working as a senior lidar development engineer, lidar performance engineer for Ultra Cruise, and most recently engineering leader of user experience and connectivity within GM’s Autonomous Vehicle Technology Program. Prior to GM, Gonçalves was a quality engineering coordinator at Honda North America.
