PsiQuantum Expands Development Agreement: Week in Brief: 05/05/23

PsiQuantum expanded its development agreement with
SkyWater Technology and its plan to produce silicon photonic chips that will become part of future quantum computing systems. The companies have partnered to develop the chips in SkyWater’s semiconductor manufacturing facility in Bloomington.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. —
Apollo Optical Systems (AOS), a designer and manufacturer of precision optical components and systems, announced receipt of an investment from Pike Street Capital. AOS provides components for OEMs in the industrial metrology, VR, commercial, LED lighting, medical instrument, automotive sensor and lidar, and defense markets. Investment figures were not disclosed.

3D Systems entered into an agreement to acquire
Wematter, a 3D printer manufacturer that will broaden 3D Systems’ selective laser sintering portfolio. 3D Systems expects the transaction to close in July 2023.

Newsight Imaging will work with VCSEL technology company
Brightlaser Ltd. on a collaboration grant from the Hong Kong-Israel R&D Cooperation Programme to develop a next-generation 3D home and industrial security lidar camera solution. The solution will be based on Newsight Imaging’s eTOF proprietary patented technology and Brightlaser’s VCSEL technology.
PALO ALTO, Calif. —
Hesai Technology established a multiyear technology partnership agreement for lidar sensors with
Inertial Labs, a developer of mobile robotics navigation systems and inertial measurement units. Inertial Labs selected Hesai’s sensors to provide perception and navigation capabilities for its navigation systems for autonomous marine-, land-, and aerial-based robotics systems.
