Trimedyne, Surgical Firm Ink Marketing Agreement

IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 8 -- Trimedyne Inc. has agreed to provide an Alabama-based provider of surgical devices with lasers in a joint marketing agreement. The agreement states that Trimedyne will provide Surgical Innovations and Services Inc. (SIS) with lasers and SIS will charge a fee to contracted hospitals and surgical centers every time the lasers are used. Trimedyne and SIS the will share the capital from each rental fee.
We are pleased to take this next business step with SIS, which has been a valued Trimedyne customer for several years, said Shane H. Traveller, president and COO of Trimedyne. Providing our lasers to hospitals and surgery centers on a 'fee per case' rental basis gives them access to our equipment without having to bear the large capital cost of a laser and the cost of a technician to operate it. This arrangement with SIS should increase our revenues and improve our margins by our participating in the fees generated from each laser use.
