Cognex Announces Changes to Board
Cognex appointed Angelos Papadimitriou to its board of directors. Additionally, directors Theodor Krantz and Patrick Alias will retire from the board, effective May 3 upon completion of their current terms. Alias will remain as an employee of the company in an advisory role.
Papadimitriou currently serves as chairman of the board of directors of Athena Ventures. From August 2020 to February 2021, he served as co-CEO of Pirelli & C. SpA. Papadimitriou previously led Coesia SpA, a group of industrial and packaging solutions companies, as CEO for 10 years. He spent more than 15 years in the pharmaceutical industry, including as senior vice president for Italy and Southeast Europe at GlaxoSmithKline, and currently serves as a director for Humanitas, a privately held network of teaching and research hospitals, as well as Dompé Farmaceutici SpA, a privately held biopharmaceutical company.
Papadimitriou will serve on the Audit Committee as a Cognex board member. Following the departures of Krantz and Alias, the number of directors on the board will be decreased from nine to seven.
