Ultrafast-laser manufacturer Chromacity appointed
Robert Black and
Richard Laming to its board directors as the company seeks to expand further into industrial markets. Black joins as nonexecutive chairman. Black, former CEO of software firm SeeByte, is an experienced executive and nonexecutive director in the photonics, information technologies, and robotics industries. Laming brings experience as an executive and nonexecutive director of technology businesses spanning optoelectronics, microelectromechanical systems, and electronics. He is best known for leading development of the erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) commercialized by Pirelli and the fiber gratings commercialized by SPI Lasers. In a corresponding move, Chromacity secured an investment to be used to invest in key infrastructure.

Louis Leeburg, who will remain a director with the company. Faris has served as a director of the LightPath since 2011. In 2021, he was appointed CEO of Infleqtion Inc., a provider of quantum systems and component technologies. He formerly served as chief business officer of Luminar Technologies Inc.
