EKSPLA Names President of US Subsidiary: People in the News: Oct. 5, 2022

Laser manufacturer EKSPLA named Stephen Hypsh president for its representative office in the U.S., EKSPLA USA. Hypsh is former vice president of Advanced Optowave Corp.

BOULDER, Colo. — Quantum technology company ColdQuanta expanded its leadership team. The company named William Clark vice president of quantum development, Laura Hale vice president of government programs, and Steve Matthews vice president of sales and business development for quantum information platforms. Chris Wood, vice president of photonic technologies, was promoted to CTO. Acting CTO Dana Z. Anderson will serve as chief strategy officer.

CARDIFF, Wales — Semiconductor technology company IQE appointed Christine Dunbar vice president of U.S. sales. Dunbar joins IQE from the executive team at GlobalFoundries Inc. (GF), which he joined in 2015 as vice president of product management upon GF’s acquisition of IBM’s microelectronics division.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Sensing and perceptions technology developer Aeva has appointed Erin Polek, senior vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer at Qualcomm; Stephen Zadesky, former vice president of engineering at Apple; and Christopher Eberle, global head of semiconductor and hardware investments at Sylebra Capital, to its board of directors, effective Nov. 11.

TUCSON, Ariz. — Directed energy company Applied Energetics appointed Kevin Gunde to its advisory board. Gunde serves as vide president and chief scientist of the Rapid Solutions organization at Jacobs, a provider of professional services, including consulting, technical, scientific, and project delivery for the government and private sector. Gunde was a founder and sector vice president for KeyW Corp., a national security provider of advanced engineering and technology solutions for the intelligence, cyber, and counterterrorism communities, that Jacobs acquired in 2019.

ESPOO, Finland — Dispelix, a designer and manufacturer of waveguides, named Saara Airas director of people operations. Prior to joining Dispelix, Airas worked for Smartly.io as head of human resources. She has also worked in human resources positions at consultancies including KPMG, Deloitte, and EY.
