New Scale Technologies Names COO: People in the News: 09/07/22

Rigaku Beijing Corporation, a subsidiary of Rigaku, a manufacturer of x-ray analysis, measurement, and testing instruments, has named Jeff Li CEO. Li previously served as vice president and head of Greater China at Qiagen China. Prior to that he served in leadership roles at Perkin Elmer and Agilent Technologies. He holds a doctorate in materials science from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a master’s degree in finance from the University of Bridgeport.

CARLSBAD, Calif. — Palomar Technologies, a provider of manufacturing technologies for the photonics and microelectronics industries, appointed Thorsten Scheidler managing director of its European operations, effective Oct. 1. Scheidler replaces Josef Schmidl, who is retiring after more than 30 years with the company. Scheidler has more than 15 years of sales and technical support experience within the European power electronics and semiconductor industries.

LUND, Germany — Autonomous driving technology company Terranet named Magnus Andersson CEO. Interim CEO Göran Janson will return to his role as chairman of the board, and Anders Blom will resume his position as board member. Andersson said that he plans to focus on product development, as well as pursuing OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in the automotive industry.

VICTOR, N.Y. — High-tech motion systems designer and manufacturer New Scale Technologies named Bruce Hayward COO. Hayward has more than 30 years of leadership experience in manufacturing environments at global companies, including Gleason Corp. and United Technologies. Most recently he served as senior director of U.S. Service, East, at Transcat, a provider of calibration and test and measurement services and instruments.

SANTA PAULA, Calif. — Abrisa Technologies named Lance Kling sales manager of the company’s specialty glass products and custom glass fabrication services. Kling has 30 years of experience in the technical glass industry and numerous industry accreditations, including a LEED AP credential.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Industrial technology company EnPro Industries appointed Will Abbey to its board of directors. Abbey as more than 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and currently serves as senior vice president of sales and partner enablement at Arm. He has held several leadership roles since joining Arm in 2004, including as general manager of Arm’s physical design group and vice president of commercial operations for the physical IP division.
