FANUC America Expands Michigan Campus
Robotics technology company FANUC America has expanded its West Campus — a move that will push its operational space outside Detroit to close to 2 million sq ft. The construction is set to include a 655,000-sq-ft facility devoted to manufacturing, engineering, and R&D projects.
The investment also includes the purchase of 67 acres and the site of the former Thomas M. Cooley Law School Campus, which will provide future growth in the education of the next generation of robotics and automation workers. Including the existing building, FANUC will add 788,000 sq ft of additional operational floor space.
Following planned approval from the City of Auburn Hills, Mich., FANUC intends to break ground in fall of 2022. Facility completion is expected in the spring of 2024.
