EPIC Adds to Board: People in the News: 4/13/22
The European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC) named
Nicoletta Casanova to its board of directors. The consortium formally announced the appointment of Casanova, CEO and president of FEMTOprint, a Swiss manufacturer of 3D-printed microdevices, at its annual general meeting in Vilnius April 7. Casanova has served as technical director at a laboratory for material testing and has founded multiple companies including FEMTOprint. The EPIC board consists of seven members.

TOKYO — Clinical diagnostics, life science research, semiconductor, and industrial process control company Atonarp added to its executive team. The company named

Chris Valcke chief product development officer;
Shaun Chen vice president of engineering,
Carrie Mulherin vice president of marketing,
Erik Tyrell-Knott vice president of business development, and
Lisa Charter vice president of regulatory affairs and quality assurance. The additions support Atonarp’s regulatory affairs and quality assurance related to its ATON platform for in vitro diagnostics. The ATON system uses multilaser optical spectroscopy to quantify molecules, delivering real-time results that inform personalized treatment decisions.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Lidar solutions developer Cepton Inc. appointed
Hull Xu, the company’s vice president of finance and strategy, to the position of CFO, effective April 5. Xu succeeds Winston Fu in the role. Xu joined Cepton in 2021, and he led the merger with specialty purpose acquisition company Growth Capital Acquisition Corp. that resulted in Cepton becoming a publicly traded company. Fu will remain with the company as an adviser on strategic projects.
