NUREMBERG, Germany — Two members of the supervisory board of VIA optronics AG, a supplier of interactive display products and solutions, will resign. Jerome Tan and Diosdado Banatao will resign effective as of the date of the company’s annual general meeting. The supervisory board conducted a criteria-based search and recruitment process to find candidates with skills and experience complementary to current board members. The company intends to nominate Arthur Tan of the Philippines and Shuji Aruga of Japan as supervisory board members.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — NTT Research has gained six new scientists in its Physics & Informatics Lab. They are senior research scientists Adil Gangat and Sho Sugiura; research scientists Thibault Chervy, Edwin Ng, and Gautam Reddy; and post-doctoral fellow Yonghwi Kim. The additions bring the number of PHI Labb scientist to 18, including PHI lab director Yoshihasa Yamamato.

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — MicroCare LLC has appointed Ray Bellavance as vice president of global sales and marketing. Bellavance joins the company with nearly 30 years of experience selling industrial chemicals and tools, including MicroCare products, in his prior role at Jensen Tool & Supply. He has also held positions at Stanley Black & Decker, Danaher Tool Group, Craftsman, and Fein Power Tools.

CARDIFF, England — IQE, a supplier of compound semiconductor wafer products and materials solutions for the semiconductor industry, appointed Americo Lemos as CEO, effective January 2022. Lemos joins the company from the executive team at GlobalFoundries where he served as senior vice president of business development for Asia Pacific. Lemos has also held positions at Qualcomm, Intel Flextronics, Texas Instruments, and Skyworks.

BRUSSELS, Belgium — Laserlab-Europe AISBL, an international nonprofit representing 45 leading laser research infrastructures, elected Jens Biegert from ICFO as its new executive director and appointed new members to its management board. Biegert succeeds Claes-Göran Wahlström of the Lund Laser Center in Sweden. The general assembly of Laserlab-Europe AISBL also renewed management board members and user representatives with the election of Colin Danson, Cristina Hernandez-Gomez, Sylvie Jacquemot, Britta Redlich, Marc Vrakking, Claes-Göran Wahlström, Rosa Weigand, Helder Crespo, Susan Quinn, and Rosa Weigand.
