FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif. — Dental laser company BIOLASE appointed three members to its board of directors. Kathleen T. O’Loughlin, Carol Gomez Summerhays, and Martha Somerman have joined the board, bringing the membership to nine. Michael DiTolla and Garret Sato resigned as members to pursue other interests.

HØRSHOLM, Denmark — Soren Helmer Rasmussen joined Delta Optical Thin Films as sales director. Rasmussen has more than 15 years of experience in medical device sales. Previously he served as area sales manager at Vitrex Medical and as senior area sales manager at CONMED Corp.

BOSTON — Brian Conkle was appointed as COO of NanoImaging Services, a provider of imaging services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and nanotechnology communities. Conkle will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company and lead the execution of the organization’s strategy. Conkle has extensive experience within the life sciences industry.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Infinera appointed new members to its executive team. Ron Johnson was appointed general manager of the optical systems and network solutions group; Tom Burns serves as general manager of the optical modules and coherent solutions group; Azmina Somani is now senior vice president of engineering in the optical modules and coherent solutions group; and Russ Esmacher was appointed senior vice president of strategy.

PITTSBURGH — Francis J. Kramer, II-VI’s current board chair and former CEO, will transition to chair emeritus while continuing as a director, effective immediately. Vincent D. Mattera Jr., current CEO, will become chair of II-VI’s board of directors. Kramer served as president of II-VI from 2007 to 2014 and as CEO and board chair from 2014 to 2016, and he continued as board chair when Mattera became CEO in 2016.
