BAD OLDESLOE, Germany — Automation Technology (AT) named Guido Deutz business development manager. Deutz has served in the role since March 1. He worked in recent years as a business development and sales manager for companies in the image processing industry. At AT he will focus on the further expansion of the company’s sales network in Canada and the U.S.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Laser communication company Mynaric appointed Tim Deaver vice president of strategic solutions. Deaver has more than 30 years of experience with governmental space programs. He will operate out of the company’s recently established Washington, D.C., area office and will be responsible for creating and marketing customer solutions, particularly in response to the needs of the U.S. Department of Defense and other government clients. Previously he served as director of national security space systems at Airbus U.S. Space & Defense Inc.

SAN DIEGO — Microscopy company ONI appointed Tyler Ralston CTO. Ralston joins the company from the 4Catalyzer incubator where he most recently served as CTO for Tesseract. In his tenure at 4Catalyzer, Ralston was co-founder and helped lead the development of technologies including the Butterfly Network Ultrasound-on-Chip technology, the Hyperfine Research portable MRI system, and the Tesseract iC ophthalmic imaging system. Ralston also has experience with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Massachusetts Institute of Technology Lincoln Laboratory, where he helped develop and advance programs in optical and radar imaging systems.

ORLANDO, Fla. — LightPath Technologies appointed Louis Leeberg chairman of the company’s board of directors. He succeeds Robert Ripp. Leeberg has served as a director of LightPath since May 1996, including membership of the company’s audit and compensation committees.

JENA, Germany — Global photonics group Jenoptik appointed Denny Hao director of sales for its smart manufacturing business in the Jenoptik Light and Production division in North America. Hao has more than 20 years of experience in engineering, business development, and key account management and production. Prior to Jenoptik, Hao worked in several leadership roles at JABIL.
