Deutsche Telekom, Polycom Sign Distribution Agreement

BONN, Germany, July 12 -- Deutsche Telekom AG has agreed to distribute Polycom Inc.'s (Milpitas, Calif.) line of ViewStation video communications systems to its German telecommunications customers.
Deutsche Telekom has already established 160,000 miles of fiber optics and more than 14 million integrated services digital network (ISDN) channels throughout Germany. With the foundation already installed, video communications should be a desirable product, Deutsche Telekom said.
Communications and interactive cooperation for companies spread across more than one site are crucial for running a successful business, said Friedel Krawinkel, senior executive vice president, terminal equipment, at Deutsche Telekom AG.
