OpTek Invests in Operational Facilities in US, China, UK
Precision laser processor and manufacturer OpTek Systems announced its investment into new operational facilities on three continents. The company expanded its Greenville, S.C., facility by 2000 sq ft, adding additional fiber processing and machine commissioning space. The company also said it opened a new facility, co-located with HITEC Sensors, in Chelmsford, Mass., outside Boston. Both OpTek and HITEC are Humanetics Group companies.
OpTek additionally increased the square footage of the processing and assembly areas of its Dongguan, China, facility, to meet incoming orders for fiber optic sensors for medical applications, the company said. In Europe, OpTek added a building to its Abingdon, Oxford, facility and said it plans to move its full British operation to a single complex in 2021.
In a press release announcing the expansions, the company said it has “refreshed its brand identity in line with its sister companies from across the Humanetics Group and launched a new digital presence.”
