AR Rapid-Deployment Kits Aid Training, Response to COVID-19
To help organizations collaborate and quickly train workers in R&D and manufacturing environments, augmented reality company Apprentice.io is sending dozens of its Tandem Rapid Deployment Kits to pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing facilities around the globe whose operations have been, or could be, delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The company said that it created the kits as a response to the increase in travel bans, facility closures, and meeting cancellations caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.

The kits come with the Tandem platform preloaded on hands-free, clean-room compliant, augmented-reality smart glasses and accessories. They allow in-suite operators to connect with out-of-suite subject matter experts, contract research organizations and contract manufacturing organizations, and equipment vendors without having to enter a facility. Transfer methods and processes between internal and outsourced sites can be conducted remotely through Tandem, eliminating the need for travel. In addition, remote acceptance testing and safe facility tours can be conducted in the event of a facility shutdown.
The company said it has received a number of kit requests from pharma organizations, manufacturers, suppliers, and outsourcing partners who aim to ensure continuity of operations and supply chain preservation.
