Coordinate Metrology Society Forms Board of Directors

The Coordinate Metrology Society has formed a board of directors composed of seven industry and business professionals. The board was formed in July 2019 at the 35th Coordinate Metrology Society Conference in Orlando, Fla., and will provide oversight and management of the society, formulate organizational policies, and chart a sustainability strategy for the future direction of the organization.

Sitting on the CMS board of directors are Chair Joe Sabol, Newport News Shipbuilding; Vice Chair Ron Hicks, vice president of Automated Precision; Michael Raphael, president, Direct Dimensions; Dr. Bonnie Dunbar, former NASA astronaut and TEES Distinguished Research Professor, Texas A&M University; Alan Metzel, Northrop Grumman Corp.; Patrick Welch, New River Kinematics; and Ron Rode, Planet Tool and Engineering.

The Coordinate Metrology Society comprises users of 3D portable and stationary measurement technologies, service providers, and OEM manufacturers of close-tolerance industrial coordinate measurement systems, software, and peripherals. The membership gathers each year at their annual Coordinate Metrology Society Conference to share advancements and applications of any measurement system or software solution that produces and uses 3D coordinate data.
