Frost & Sullivan honors NUBURU with Award

Business analysis firm Frost & Sullivan has selected NUBURU to receive its 2019 Technology Innovation Award for “Developing Superior Quality for the Welding Market.”

Frost & Sullivan noted the physical advantage of NUBURU’s blue wavelengths over the incumbent infrared laser welding technologies. Copper absorbs over 10× more power from blue light than it does from infrared, allowing for more efficient welding that avoids common defects associated with infrared laser welding.

The award cited target markets poised for significant growth, including electric vehicles, which NUBURU believes will contain about 15× as much copper as internal combustion vehicles; battery fabrication; consumer electronics; and 3D metal manufacturing.

Frost & Sullivan’s Best Practices Awards are presented each year to companies that are predicted to encourage significant growth in their industries, that identified emerging trends before they became a marketplace standard, and that have created advanced technologies that will catalyze and transform industries in the near future. Companies are also recognized for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through interviews, analysis, and research to identify best practices.
