Williams Communications Signs $27 Million Agreement with Infonet
TULSA, Okla., June 22 -- Williams Communications has agreed to provide capacity on its nationwide fiber optic network to Infonet Services Corp in return for $27 million. The capacity will support Infonet's $850 million global network expansion program. Williams' network capacity will provide Infonet access to more than 60 metropolitan markets throughout the US.
Williams is uniquely suited to support Infonet in growing its business by providing the connectivity for a rapid national presence and the broadband capacity Infonet requires to deliver high-quality advanced services to its customers, said Gordon Martin, president of carrier services for the Williams Network.
Infonet provides communication services for multinational corporations. It currently services more than 2,600 enterprises and manages a global network of nearly 1 million kilometers of managed circuits, including 750,000 kilometers of fiber-based circuits.SEMATECH Gives Cymer More Funding for 193nm Research
