Applied Imaging Obtains Rights to SmartCapture

SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 16 -- Applied Imaging Corp. has entered a multiple-year distribution and product development agreement with Digital Scientific Ltd. Applied Imaging will be the sole distributor of Digital Scientific's SmartCapture line of imaging tools for advanced fluorescence microscopy.
These fluorescence-imaging applications will be incorporated into the Quips PathVysion system to help pathologists document three-dimensional, multi-color images of tissue and biopsy specimens. This will extend scientists' capabilities of analyzing fluorescent images in the study of genetic abnormalities in cancer and prenatal disorders using DNA probes, said Applied Imaging.
