Jenoptik Opens New Facility in France
Optical technology company Jenoptik has officially opened its new facility in France that includes space for production, a modern metrology laboratory, and offices as the company continues its steady, global growth.
The new, 2500-sq-m facility is located near Bayeux in Normandy. Although the ribbon-cutting ceremony was held April 3, employees moved into their new workspaces at the beginning of this year.
Jenoptik has charted steady growth throughout the years with acquisitions and the construction of new facilities. In the metrology market segment, the company acquired the French company ETAMIC S.A. in 2006 and merged it with its industrial metrology business. Jenoptik’s other major metrology sites are located at the centers of the global automotive industry and include Germany and France; Rochester Hills, Mich., in the U.S.; Shanghai, China; and Pyeongtaek, South Korea.
With this new investment in France, Jenoptik has a state-of-the-art production and sales environment for its high-precision industrial measurement machines, which are used in industry and automotive manufacturing. In France, Jenoptik’s customers include renowned automotive manufacturers and supplier companies.
In addition, relationships with research institutions promise to expand considerably.
