Before assuming this role, Subbiah spent 12 years at ANSYS, where he held a variety of senior roles, and before that 17 years at Fluent Inc., helping grow the company’s sales via market segmentation, eventually ascending to the position of vice president of U.S. operations.
Subbiah joins Zemax from ANSYS, where he held a variety of senior roles over the past 12 years, including leading corporate product strategy. As vice president of global product operations, he was most recently responsible for re-energizing the company's flagship Fluid Dynamics products, launching innovative new user workflows, and helping the firm exceed its global product sales.
“Zemax has built an impressive company around one-of-a-kind software products and has reached a pivotal moment for growth,” Subbiah said.
Subbiah received a B.Tech. in chemical engineering from IIT Madras, a master's degree in energy engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Delaware. He also completed the executive program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth University.
Zemax’s optical product design software space is used to develop a range of lens systems, laser systems, and optical products, including space telescopes, augmented reality glasses, lidar in autonomous vehicles, smartphone cameras, and biomedical imaging devices.
