Timbercon Aims for Zero Defects Program

Fiber optic solutions provider Timbercon Inc. has begun to implement Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) AS9145 standards throughout all projects and builds as part of its strategy to get to the Zero Defects quality management program.

This initiative is aimed at eliminating waste and reducing defects to ensure high-quality standards for customer and internal projects. The company’s quality control team already has experience in Zero Defects, specifically in missile programs. Timbercon’s plan has already been approved by some of its major defense and aerospace customers.

“Defects are inconvenient and expensive for any manufacturer, but for our customers they can make the difference between a missile hitting its mark or a communications system staying online when a military field base floods,” said Dereck Williams, senior quality manager of Timbercon.

Timbercon is an AS9100D- and ISO9001:2015-certified fiber optic solutions design and manufacturing company.
